Zachary McNiece, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Counselor Education at San José State University. He earned his PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of Florida in 2022. Dr. McNiece’s work bridges scholarship, teaching, and clinical practice, with a focus on equity-centered, trauma-informed approaches to care. He specializes in exploring oppression-based and intergenerational traumas, supporting mental health in marginalized communities, and applying arts-based and expressive techniques to enhance healing, storytelling, and resilience. Through his research and practice, he is dedicated to promoting culturally responsive interventions that foster safety, inclusion, and empowerment for all individuals.
