Happy New Year! AORN 0513 Chapter Members from the President

Dear AORN 0513 Chapter Membership,

       As I reflect on our 2023 accomplishments and enter this 2024 year, I want to ask our chapter membership to do the traditional thing and make some professional resolutions for the New Year. Whether you keep them or not, is up to you. it is important to try to make the change. At least, give yourself the opportunity to hear what we are all about and get involved. You will find your PeriOperative colleagues most welcoming.

I want to challenge our membership with the resolution to make an effort to attend our chapter's monthly meeting and/or event. Each of us has a professional responsibility to continually to educate one's self. Many of our hospital facilities have clinical ladder promotions where professional organization memberships assist those levels of promotion. We are here to get you involved professionally. Learn from your colleagues. Gold mines of information are disseminated to you by our speakers.

We, like many of our nationwide fellow chapters, are familiar, oh too well, with the same on-going challenges. Yet, through these trying times, we, your leadership team, support you through the continuation of hosted monthly meetings, events, both social and community-based, while working diligently to make enticing topics with wonderful speakers to peek your professional interest. I want to acknowledge my team of their great efforts and contributions.

Now, ask yourself, am I doing my best professionally to support my PeriOperative chapter? If not, join us. Our next meeting is Saturday, January 20th. I think you will be surprised by just how terrific we are. Can we do better? Absolutely!  You can do better, too. Come and find out for yourself.
